Overview
Jhpiego seeks a
Malaria Surveillance and Epidemiology Technical Lead / Officer to provide
technical leadership in the areas of prevention and case management for an
upcoming multi-year USAID malaria project in Tanzania. The project will work
closely with the Government of Tanzania (GOT) to reduce the burden of malaria
in high-burden areas through quality improvements to malaria case management
and treatment of malaria in pregnancy (MIP) with a particular focus on malaria
surveillance, entomological monitoring, and monitoring of drug-based
interventions. The project will also promote the use of surveillance data to
refine outbreak response and vector control activities.
The position will
operate under the leadership of the Technical Director and will ensure the
technical and methodological soundness of project activities related to malaria
surveillance and epidemiology. In collaboration with project team and partners,
the position will provide strategic input into issues related to improving
routine malaria surveillance and will work with the GOT to introduce new
approaches to malaria case detection and response capabilities.
