 YOUR ROLE

The purpose of the role is to effectively manage ground customers to ensure daily smooth operations and improvement of service level for ground customers

 

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO? 

  • Work closely with the client in the preparation of relevant documents to ensure no errors exist which could cause delays
  • On-boarding (SOP’s & check quote in place before starting clearing process)
  • Create/send CEVA Arrival Notice to Customer (if automated) or to Customer Service (if not automated)
  • Process daily operational reporting for the Customers
  • Maintain Terminal & Port Authority communication whenever applicable
  • Request cargo release and ensure no demurrage outstanding on previous shipments.
  • Provide immediate information to the customer on any possible delays in clearing the cargo
  • Maintain chronological report in the file indicating the clearance progress of the shipment all the time until the cargo is cleared.
  • Communicate delivery of the shipments with the customers to ensure that the delivery place is confirmed before clearance of the shipment.
  • During delivery of the cargo, make sure that CEVA delivery note is signed and in case of any discrepancies, the same should be indicated in the document for claim purpose.
  •  Follow up with the transporter to ensure the empty containers are returned to depot and inward interchange is in the file.
  • Handle over file to billing department immediately (24hrs) after the clearance for invoicing as per agreed rates.

 

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR

  • Self-motivated. Able to achieve results by working independently with little or no supervision.
  • Sense of urgency and follow-up.
  • Strongly developed persuasive skills, proven negotiation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think and respond quickly to sales and service issues.
  • Positive, competitive, confident sales approach and ability to work effectively in a team environment to achieve results
  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in a Freight Forwarding industry is a qualifier
