Job Description

Dar es Salaam Institute  of Technology ( DIT) invites applications from the interested and suitably qualified Public Servants who wish to be transferred to Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology (DIT) Mwanza Campus to fill the following vacant position

Salary Scale : PTSS 10 


Required Qualifications

(1) Textile Technology

  • BSc. in Textile Design and Technology
  • BSc. in Textile Engineering
  • Any other related field

 

(2) Leather Processing

  • BSc. in Leather Technology
  • BSc. in Chemical and Processing Engineering
  • BSc. in Bioprocess and Post-Harvest Engineering
  • Any other related field

 

(3) Food Processing

  • BSc. in Food Science Technology
  • BSc. in Biotechnology
  • BSc. in Bioprocess and Post-Harvest Technology
  • Any other related field

 

(4) Leather Products Technology

  • BA in Fine Art and Design
  • BSc. in Fashion Design
  • Bachelor of Tech Footwear Technology
  • BSc. in Mechanical Engineering
  • Any other related field

 

General Conditions

  • All applicants must be Public Servants;
  • Applications letter for Transfer should be routed through their current employers;
  • All applicants should have skills and qualifications as shown in each post;
  • All applicants with certificates from foreign Universities should be verified by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU);
  • All Secondary and Academic Certificates should be already verified by the respective Authority (NECTA and NACTE);
  • For Instructor II the minimum required GPA is 3.0

About the Company

The Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology (DIT) is the government Institution established in 1997 by Act of parliament."the DIT Act No 6 of 1997" to replace the Dar es Salaam Technical College which had a long history of technical training in Tanzania from 1957.

The Dar es Salaam Technical Institute was established aiming at providing vocational training in the country. The Institute later expanded its scope to offer technical secondary school courses and training for Technical Assistants before it was upgraded in 1962 to become the Dar es Salaam Technical College (DTC), the first formal technical training institution in the country. DTC was aimed to train technicians under the London City and Guilds Training Program. In order to enhance its contribution to the national capacity building in technical manpower, the College in 1964 introduced two-and-a-half-year Ordinary Technician Diploma (OTD).
