ROLE PURPOSE
The incumbent will be responsible for implementing birth
registration duties under case management in Nduta/Nyarugusu refugee camps
supporting both Burundian and Congolese new born children, to attain birth
certificates upon birth. S/he will support other case management services
upon deflation of birth registration activities, and therefore in absence
of birth registration of responsibilities due to low birth rate period, where
s/he will support case workers in implementing case management activities. The
role reports to Project Officer and has no delegated authority.

Kibondo/Nyarugusu and reports to the Project Officer (Birth Registration).
Dimensions of the
Role
The role holder will provide leadership oversight to the
Incentive Workers into respective refugee camps. S/he will also vulnerable
children, adolescents and caregivers in exercising roles for case management in
particular. S/he will work in collaboration with other likeminded agencies such
as IRC, Save the Children, TRCs/ICRC, DRC, UNICEF, NRC, World Vision, MOHA,
UNCHR, Community based structures among others. Key focus area is to ensure
community members are well informed on birth registration and every child is
registered promptly.
Accountabilities
Program Implementation
Supporting case management services.
Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Child
Protection (CPP) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI) are fully embedded in
accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including
relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of
responsibility. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring staff and associates
are aware of and understand their responsibilities under these policies and
Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), their relevance to their area of
work, and that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the
appropriate procedures.
Key relationships
The Technical Assistant will have significant contact with
Project Officer – Birth Registration, CPiE Coordinator, Compliance and
Reporting Coordinators and PSS officer etc. The position involves resolving a
wide range of challenges which occurs in managing different people with
different background and culture. The position holder will be required to
demonstrate attributes such as honest and trustworthy, respect, possess
cultural awareness and sensitivity, be flexible and demonstrate sound work
ethics. S/he will demonstrate the ability to solve problems, be creative while
providing support.
